Hello. Excuse me for writing this in English. (I am vacationing in Italy right now, and don't have access to my own PC.)
Polenta, I believe, is from Italy. I think it's Italy's "Katei-ryouri."
Don't have any recipes, but they do serve Polenta in a sort of jello style (meaning that it was hardened in a baking dish, then it was cut in square pieces).
